Dieter Loose
Dieter
Loose was born in Dortmund, Germany. At the age of 13 he immigrated
with his parents to Chicago, Illinois. After serving 3 years with the
US Army in Germany he joined the US Civil Service and worked in Human
Resources in a variety of locations in the US, Germany and Israel. Dieter
retired in Germany and moved to Castle Rock in 1994.
After retirement Dieter started to add stained glass art to his repertoire
as an artist and now offers a wide variety of custom designs, from side
lights, transoms, kitchen and bar cabinet doors, and bathroom windows.
He is proud to also continue a well known German craftsmanship: wood
silhouettes. These are a very old and almost extinct German art form,
a form of decoupage or fretwork, individually hand cut. The silhouettes
can also be combined with stained glass to produce a very unusual and
one of a kind masterpiece. Dieter learned this from his father at a
very young age and has expanded his skill over many years.
Dieter’s
work has been displayed in numerous private and business locations in
the United States and Germany; including the Town of Castle Rock ,the
Castle Rock Bank, the Fraternal Order of Eagles , and Douglas County
Guns. His work has recently been featured at the Philip S. Miller Library
and is available for viewing at:
