“Fully Involved” is a life-size memorial to fallen firefighters for the city of Tacoma, WA. But my special interest in the fire service, and its dedicated personnel, was honed during my years as a resident member of the Roxborough Park Volunteer Fire Department.

Larry’s figurative subjects often depict people doing adventuresome, perhaps dangerous, work. This theme is partly derived from his 10 years as a racing driver and 3 years as a volunteer firefighter. Throughout his 11-year art career, he has strived to capture the action and intensity that make such dynamic people memorable.
Training – Larry studied figure drawing under Gary Faigin, director of the Academy of Realist Art in Seattle, WA, still-life studies under Eliott McMurrough of Indialantic, FL; representational sculpture under John Dilgarde at the Pratt Art Center in Seattle; bronze design and fabrication under Gerald Tsutakawa of Seattle; figurative sculpture under Fritz White and bas relief under Eugene Daub, at the Loveland Sculpture Academy in Colorado; and the art bronze casting process under figurative sculptor Kevin Pettelle and foundryman Todd Pettelle, at Northwest Artworks in Sultan, WA.
Larry also has proven skills in project management, gained during a long technical career in computer systems development. In recent monumental sculpture efforts, he has demonstrated that he plans and executes these complex projects on time and within budget.

Larry’s portfolio includes these commissioned bronzes:

Tah Keen Cha

“Tah Keen Cha” is the Oglala Sioux Indian name for a unique creature, the North American pronghorn (often but incorrectly called “antelope”), which inhabits our Western plains. This over life-size bronze image now resides outside the entrance of the Westridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch.
