The
changing aspen mark the end of another summer in the Rocky Mountains. Soon these woods will be buried deep by heavy, winter snows. Knowing this, the experienced hiker will linger here just a bit longer—trying to soak in the last remnants of the season. |

Earth
and Sky While exploring the Rocky Mountain backcountry I sometimes encounter a world where the earth and sky melt together into one. This image was taken on such an occasion while watching the sun set on a fall evening along Kebler Pass. |

| Spring
is slow in coming to the sub alpine forests of the Rocky Mountains. The
deep Winter snows hang on tenaciously, reluctant to give way to the changing
season. This image of Notchtop Mountain was taken in the middle of June
and shows the stubbornness of the winter snows. |
You
hear the sound of a large waterfall long before it comes into view. Approaching
it you are enveloped in a cooling mist and pounding thunder. Perched on
the edge of this rushing torrent you are reminded once again that there
are powers in nature much greater than us.
